Partners from Eurecat disseminate GuestXR research at WASPAA 2023
GuestXR project partners from Eurecat Enric Gusó, PhD student and Umut Sayin, researcher at the Multimedia Technologies Unit, attended the IEEE Workshop on Applications of Signal Processing to Audio and Acoustics (WASPAA), held between October 22nd-25th, 2023, in New Paltz, New York State (United States).
During the poster session 3 of the event “Signal Enhancement and Separation”, chaired by Ante Jukić, Enric Gusó presented the work “An objective evaluation of Hearing Aids and DNN-based binaural speech enhancement in complex acoustics scenes”.
The poster investigates the objective performance of five high-end commercially available Hearing Aid devices compared to DNN-based speech enhancement algorithms in complex acoustic environments.
The methodology and conclusions of this work is described in a scientific paper as part of the conference proceedings. You can download it here:
The WASPAA workshop reviewed the current state of the art as well as recent advances in signal processing, with emphasis on its applications to audio and acoustics. It brought together researchers and practitioners from universities and industry.
