D3.6 Real time representation of participants in a multi-person meeting - including facial expression representation - UB public demonstration
This report details three key public demonstrations that showcased multi-person meetings in virtual reality (VR) with a focus on realistic facial expression representation.
The first demonstration was an interview between Prof. David Chalmers and Financial Times journalist John Thornhill, conducted in VR and resulting in a published article. The second event was a panel at the "XR for the People" conference, featuring an AI-driven avatar of Albert Einstein. The third demonstration was a public panel discussion on the metaverse, streamed live on YouTube, where participants used personalized avatars with facial expression capabilities. These events utilized Meta Quest devices and the "VR United" software, demonstrating significant progress in the field of realistic avatar representation and interactive virtual environments. The project continues to explore new avenues for immersive experiences, aiming to enhance user engagement and preference for virtual interactions over traditional media.
