Showcase of spatial and acoustic demos to local stakeholders in Barcelona

GuestXR partner Virtual Bodyworks hosted an open event showcasing the latest project advancements in spatial and acoustic technologies. Over the past three years, GuestXR has developed disruptive solutions that integrate state-of-the-art technologies to enhance immersive experiences in Virtual Reality (VR).

The event took place on February 18th, 2025, at the Barcelona Health Hub, located within the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site. Attendees had the opportunity to experiment first-hand several live demonstrations of different scenarios developed throughout the project.

Demonstrations presented focused on spatial coherence, acoustic immersion, and innovative applications of VR. Participants gained valuable insights into how these technologies can contribute to more realistic and engaging virtual experiences.

The event was hosted by Bernhard Spanlang, CTO of Virtual Bodyworks, and Joanna Luberadzka, researcher at Eurecat’s Multimedia Technologies Unit. Both experts guided attendees through the functionalities and potential applications of these advancements, emphasising their relevance in real-world settings.

Within GuestXR, Virtual Bodyworks is responsible for the overall architecture of the project’s platform. Moreover, is in charge of possible representations of the Guest and its actions in the virtual environment VR and AR.
