The GuestXR project has celebrated on June 27th-28th its 1st General Assembly in the facilities of Eurecat, project coordinator, in Barcelona.
This meeting has represented the first face-to-face encounter of the consortium, since the kick-off meeting was held in an online format.
In the meeting, the different partners presented their work done in the first 6 months of the project and held fruitful discussions about next steps to be taken and milestones to be achieved.
Partners visit also included the opportunity to test the technology and devices developed by University of Barcelona’s Event Lab and g.tec to discover what virtual meetings might look like in the future, embodied in their own avatars in a virtual reality space.
GuestXR works towards the creation of a new machine learning agent, called “The Guest”, addressing conflicts and unlocking interaction between participants in extended reality environments, helping them achieve their goals and address conflicts.
The project consortium is made up of eight organisations from six different countries involving a multidisciplinary team with expertise on extended reality, machine learning, artificial intelligence, social psychology, neuroscience of emotions, multisensory integration, research ethics and technology transfer.
